Julie Orr entered the design field in 1999 as an Interior Designer working with high-end commercial clients in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, and with residential clients in New York City.

In 2006, Julie formed Julie Orr Design and switched from interiors to exteriors, changing her focus to landscape design coupled with her passion for sustainability.

Julie’s vision as a landscape planner is to create beautiful, functional, stress-free gardens with an environmental approach that works in harmony with nature. She specializes in site-appropriate gardens (California native and water saving Mediterranean plants), rainwater harvesting and grey water advice, organic vegetable gardens and orchards, fragrant gardens, butterfly and bird gardens, permeable patios and walkways, outdoor kitchens, custom water features, meditation spaces, labyrinths, lighting and petscapes for dogs and cats.
