To get started with your Express Garden service, please call me. I will ask a few questions about your project including your address so that I can see the size of your property and understand your project goals. Then I can provide you with a flat rate price and set up your appointment.
Since I will be drawing the design at your home, please have a table, chair and electrical outlet nearby for me and my laptop.
To get the most from our meeting, here is your homework to complete prior to our Express Garden appointment:
- Create a Site Plan and email me the PDF one week prior to our appointment (or if you already have one, please email the file now). Fed Ex Office can take your 11×17 or over-sized paper site measurement, scan it and convert it to a PDF. We can also do the measuring for you for an additional fee, just ask!
- Tag 3-5 photographs of gardens that you like from books, magazines or websites. We recommend this book or create an “idea book” using this website
- Write a list of plant qualities (not a list of actual plants) including your likes, dislikes and favorite colors.
- Think about how you will use your new garden space. What activities and functions are most important?
- Consider your current budget range for the overall installation or decide if it is alright to build in phases
“We were looking for something drought tolerant, easy to maintain, and that fit our lifestyle and our budget. We opted for the Express Garden service. Julie gave us some great homework to do to help her zero into our style and our requirements. We then spent an afternoon with Julie and her computer designing the space. During the install, she worked with our contractor to make sure the vision was taking shape, to confirm the plants were in good condition, and to make last-minute adjustments. We were in great hands with Julie from start to finish.”- Chuck D., Mountain View
